OUR CLEANING PROCESS
We will carefully clean and re-wax your art to protect the bronze from the elements. Bronze sculptures need to be cleaned and waxed every year to ensure they maintain their patina and integrity over time. For your assurance and record, we take detailed photos of your bronze piece before any work is done, preserving an accurate record of its condition before and after the work is accomplished.
Clean off all dust and debris.
Wash surfaces using water and nylon or natural non-abrasive brushes.
Remove all water residue and heat the bronze using a small directional blow torch. This insures the bronze is dry and also helps the wax penetrate and adhere smooth to the porous bronze.
Working in sections, we heat and brush on high quality clear paste carnauba microcrystalline wax.
Let the statue and wax cool and dry. Buff all surfaces with a cloth and a polishing natural bristle brush.
